drivers license
october 16 2007
A year ago, to be precise at the first of oktober 2006 the drivinglicenses in The Netherlands were issued at a creditcard format.
Untill now 2 million people have exchanged their paper booklet for a creditcard format.
That means that 1 out of 5 drivers have a "driverscard" now.
The new card is far more frause resistant than the old license.
The old licenses were made at the councilhouse. It was a matter of apply and wait.
Now people have to wait 5 days because the cards are made at a secured place.
The machines are so very expensive that they can't install them at all 450 councilhouses.
I wonder when we neede to carry boxes with cards, because they make passes and licenses more and more at that format, and it seems we need each year more passes.
