heads or tails - gardeningtip

april 1 2008

HEADS - Tip
*OR*
TAILS - Anything that rhymes with Tip.

I've flipped the coin: heads!

A good tip for this time of year.

When you are planting your borders in the garden, or a pot for the windowsill, first buy some bulbs you can plant for flowers in the late summer and autumn.

Then buy bulbs for flowers for early summer.

And ofcourse buy your annuals.

Plant these three groups on top of each other.

You'll be surprised by flowers all season!

I think I'll hired a gardener. I have such huge ideas and plans (and would do what you say if I had a garden). So I go to the garage, look at the garden tools, unused, bought long ago, and suddenly remember something I had forgotten that was vitally important. So a gardener, for me would be good. The soil is all ledge and rock, no top soil at all on the mountain. Great ideas here that you shared.

I have a whole flower bed that needs planted, so I will have to keep this in mind. I never know what to plant.

That is a great tip. I worry that bulbs will freeze though in my planters and the soil is so terrible in the ground.
