On the road

may 1 2008

Prompts are:

Empty
Highway
Ignored

--------------------------------------------------

ON THE ROAD

an emtpy haze of sunshine
crawls over the horizon
I'm on the highway

solemn distance of discovery
waiting to be found.

It's the bittersweet silence
of the bare borders
of a far too long
neglected love
driving me through
the desolate dessert

soon the red voice
of the setting sun
will spread it's arms
around me

I'm not to be ignored.

Hiya, stumbled upon your blog via BlogExplosion (it's working *grin*). I have a couple of autism links on my blogs, if you'd like I can send you the code, just email me at rdnckwch@gmail.com
I also noticed the beautiful jewelry, are you pagan? Just curious as I haven't made it through all of your posts yet, and didn't see it mentioned in the profile :) Just wanted to say hi, and let you know someone is reading - oh yeah, and to rescue you from no comment land!
Beautiful poem.

I like the strength and certainty in this piece! Nice work!

I love that in one line, the desert is desolate, but then, you admit that it can open it's arms and embrace you. I think you perfectly capture a desert scene with those conflicting ideas: a desert is very hard to read and acts in many different ways.
