My son is entering 3rd grade this coming school year and they have finally decided that he needs assistive technology to keep up in the classroom. I tend to agree with them I wanted to give him a couple of grade levels to get caught up but I think he is about to platue. With cerebral palsy I am not sure what age they level out at.

To my opinion, there is nothing bad in hunger strikes. If people do not see what is happening, others should show it and maybe then those others will get somehow involved. I vote for hunger strikes.

I applaud Michael Buckholtz for taking up for this cause, and also you for all that you do for autism.

I wish that more would be done for this cause. There should be more celebrities working for this, and then maybe it would get the recognition it deserves.

That's absolutely nuts and far beside the truth.
In fact, I live 5 minutes from the university and there's a researchgroup about folic acid and pregnancy/babies.

I've supplemented folic acid since I was 20.

There's never found any connection between autism, autism spectrum disorders and folic acid.

And I can tell you that Michael Buckholtz doesn't spread such nonsense.

I had some know it all try to tell people my son had autism when he clearly has cerebral palsy, she was like I worked with autistic people and I know what autism looks like. I just thought to myself at that point yes that is autistic not cerebral palsy big difference.

Hi Laane, I am so happy to be here in your blog. While I am reading your post, I feel like I am looking in a mirror and saw who I really is. You got a very good point in there... people (like me) are sometimes so busy with own personal agenda, we forgot that there are a lot of people needs us.
