Our family always has a great time celebrating the end of one year and the beginning of the next. (they immigrated from Russia) It was so exciting as a child for me to stay up later than usual and enjoy the festivities. It's hard as moms to step back and let the kids take over but I think it's a great "right of passage" exercise for all.
