Do you know I love painted glassware?
I'm not only talking about christmas ornaments, but also about bowls, bottles, glasses, candle holders, plates and platters and even salt and pepper sets.
Many years ago I used to paint glasses myself.
It was fun to do, but it took a lot of time, because the preparation of the glass is as important as the paiting itself.
The cleaner the glass, the better the paint will stay on.
I still paint little glass bottles.
It's fun to fill them with bathsalt, herbs or gardenseeds and give them as a present.
More ideas can be found at Upside Living.
Using painted glass is a pleasure.
The playfull efects of the light shining through the glass adds luxury to each dinnertable.
Some time ago I was at a weddingdinner and we all got a different glass to take home.
I've made a shelf in front of the dinnerroom-window, like in the sixties, and I display my painted glasses there.
People love this little home-museum.
Upside Living offers 43 different designs.
I'm sure you can find one that fits your lifestyle and taste.
Or maybe you want each new glass you take a new surprise. Then you can mix the styles and designs.
Whether you like to have a single item, like a decanter, a cheese dome set, or whether you want to have a whole range of glasses and plates, Upside Living can provide what you like.
Each decor is unique.
Ofcourse they have other lovely products too: like windchimes, Italiand and Spanish Pottery, throws and pillows etc etc.
It's the best choice of luxury for you and those you love.
Upside Living, the luxury of handpainted glass
A vacation? No, an experience.
may 14 2008
We thought it would be a vacation.
So we booked some sightseeing tours, a nice little hotel, and when it was finally time we took our stuff and went.
Trusted Tours & Attractions, the travelorganisation was called.
It gave us a feeling of convidence that we would reach our goal.
Like some others from our group had Things to do in Boston, we had things to do in New York, and we were ready to win.
Right before the audition we were not feeling too well.
We were impressed by the huge building, the mass of people moving everywhere and the lack of familiar faces.
It was like the large city jumped right on us, at the very same moment when we were called in.
We wished each other well, and took our assigned places.
A tall woman with legs like sticks put the numbers on our backs, the pianist sat down, and 5 people came in.
They were going to decide whether we were good enough to dance in a choreography of a famous artist.
I was too concentrated to take much attention.
Already I moved my arms and took my body in a well controlled pliers.
While the interesting citylife of New York went on, time came to halt in that large balletstudio.
I just danced as I was told and enjoyed the wonderful sounds of the piano, echooing from the bare walls.
Only at the end I looked up.
A smiling face nodded at me, his eyebrows went up in a wordless greeting.
He was the guestdancer who had joined his group for the last 6 months.
Two hours later we sat down in a restaurant and had dinner with one of the most famous guys of the world.
He had shown us New York the way only a true New Yorker can.
We had a laugh about his comments when we were booking this "vacation". He then asked why we wanted to go to New York, because Trusted Tours & Attractions offers the best sightseeing tours in 23 cities across America, with large discounts.
All the way he had known.
Well, he didn't know what I'm going to tell you now.
When you sign up for the Trusted Travels eNewsletter you can win a $150 itunes gift card. Just go, before May 31, 2008 to the newsletter sign-up page and sign up.

I vowed to go back to Brussels.
may 11 2008
It has been another beautiful day.
The girls went to wave out a friend who took a flight to Cyprus.
They love to be at the airport. We all joked that there was no need to go away, as the temperatures are about the same at the moment.
Oh, how I wish I could go somewhere cooler.
An online friend in Sweden invited me over. So sweet.
She even told me where to look for the best travelinformation: the site of DialaFlight at www.dialaflight.com.
She mailed me that I could hire a car at the airport and drive to her house without any problem.
That would be a miracle, as I don't have a driver's license.LOL!
At the site I indulged myself in phantasies about beach holidays, city breaks and spa weekends.
I suddenly remembered a business meeting I've had a long long time ago. It was at Brussels. I vowed to go back there.
Maybe now is the time.
A weekend break to Brussles would be a nice added extra for mother's day.
DialaFlight has a very nice offer for two, and I know just the perfect friend to go with me.
Do you know what I like about DialaFlight?
I can call one of the travelconsultants. They're nice and kind and have such a wonderful way of creating the best stay I can imagine.
One call enables me to book the flight, hotel and a car (my friend has a license).
What a great idea!!
Imagine me up there....

Free music, games, TV and more
may 9 2008

Do you know I've been a singer in a band?
I loved it!!
Since that time I'm asked to review music at times.
With that request I honor the ongoing line of musical talent in my family. We have absolute hearing, meaning that we hear all mistakes, even when they're very minor.
My grandfather travelled the country to do the same what I can do online.
A couple of days ago I was told that a band was about to release two new numbers free for download for the general public.
My friend said I'd better download MP3 Rocket, to make life a lot easier.
It's a program that searches on internet for free downloadable material.
I tried to download the program, but it kept sending me error messages. It drove me nuts!
When I told this to my eldest this morning he got red cheeks and was very eager "to have a look". When I was upstairs getting my bag, he performed a miracle.
So this afternoon I had another try and ... IT WORKS!!!
The program enables free music downloads, free games and moviedownloads.
I only had to type in the name of the band my friend mentioned, and the program searched internet and displayed the files. Downloading went so much faster than usual.
There's no chance to be bored again.
There's a radio to listen to. Just choose one of the over 200 stations, or you can watch TV. More than 200 channnels are available, including the BBC.
MP3 Rocket comes as a free version, and as a premium version.
The free version offers me more than enough.
Like with all file sharing programs the system requires a responsible attitude.
The program is not meant to enable you to download the files for commercial use.
The site gives you lots of information and even a demo.
Have a try... it's well worth it!

SocialSpark for me too?
may 6 2008
After the disastrous effects of the actions of Google against PayPerPost bloggers: lowering their PageRank to an absolute zero, and thus taking away their opportunities to earn a certain income, a new system needed to be developed.
So after the Izearanking, SocialSpark is born.
First we had to change our blogs in such a way that all links could be followed, now the system is back to what we wanted then: no-follow links.
It's what I suggested after Google took my income, and what was put aside as impossible.
Isn't life and sponsored blogging surprising?
I took the plunge and registered, welcomes in with the promise that SocialSpark wants 100% no-foloow, 100% transparancy, 100% disclosure and 100% real opinions.
I had to shut off the sound of the computer, because a spoken add with a very irritating music on the background tried to inform me how SocialSpark works and tried to imprint the name in my brain.
Well, I've set up my profile.
It's not completely finished yet, but I'll do that after submitting this post.
It's a pity I can't display all I want.
I've done three studies, to be precise, but there's only room for one.
I for myself think it's painful to have displayed that I'm a proud parent.
With 4 disabled children parenting, and the fighting I have to do on an almost daily basis, I can't consider myself a proud parent.
Call me an idealist, I'm OK. Call me a critical parent, I'm even more OK.
To me, sponsored blogging is a way to realise some extra income so I can give the children what they need and maybe realise a little or a bit larger dream along the way.
I don't think people need to know a lot about me to advertise at my blog.
It's my blog that counts.
So all the toodoo about friends is absolutely NOT necessary.
It makes me ask myself if I really need friends at SocialSpark.
How can I be a friend to someone else? Being a friend means more than a tiny avatar in my profilesection.
A friend is someone who cares for me as a person, not someone who has a certain page rank and a high clicking ability.
After all the changes that follow each other one after another, I think we need some peace and quiet to do our job: write a blog that is original, entertaining and a good place to be.
It's also reaching a diverse audience, and for the advertisers it means an audience that's willing to buy and use services.
I still think that quality posts with a few readers can have a larger impact than a post with lots of bloghoppers.
I'd rather write towaqrds that one woman, who visits her friends at coffeetime, who goes quilting in the afternoon, talks about my blog at the choir. Through her, I can reach far more people who are willing to try a product.
Am I old fashioned? Or am I right again?
We'll see.
Tomorrow I'll take a bit more time to get used to SocialSpark.
Maybe I can finally blog for something special again.
We need a new floor downstairs... I want to visit my online friends.. and I want to start new autism friendly initiatives.
I've been told that when you opt for an opportunity you have to wait a rather long time.
Well, I can't live waiting.
I like PPP, because when you take a task, you know straightaway if you can have it or not, and you can work straightaway.
With my lifestyle, I can't wait, because there's always something happening in my dynamic life.
So a dynamic lifestyle doesn't fit SocialSpark.
I've also heard that when you opt for an opportunity with a certain payment, you can receive far less.
I'm not sure if we're dealing with a legal system here.
How would the team of Izea like it when they expect they monthly paycheck and find out they can't even pay the rent, because they receive only half?
I hope that the system at least offers us, writers, a feature that enables us to see if an advertisers pays what he promises, how much chance there is to be paid less.
Some subjects need quite some research before a good post can be written.
When I'm told I can expect 10 dollar for a post, I don't like to get only half, because I put a 10 dollar effort in.
I hope bloggers are able to withdraw their posts when they find out payment is less than offered in the first place.
Well, let's see what happens.
Want to be my friend at SocialSpark?

She rented a car!!
may 1 2008
Parties, even children's parties are such a good way to exchange information.
This afternoon I had to visit a birthdaycelebration.
I didn't expect to have a good time, but I had.
A mutual friend from england was there too.
She's a stewardess and told me she could benefit from a special discount at Advantage-rent a car, so she phoned to ask if someone was at home and came all the way to town.
Ofcourse she got quite some inquiries about the cost, if it was a lot of fuzz to rent one, the choice of cars etc. etc.
I learned that everyone who flies with Sun Country Airlines receives and extra day free of rent when they hire the car for two or more days.
But others who want to go on vacation can benefit from advantages, apart from the fact that they can choose from a complete line of cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans.
One of the men jumped from his seat to call his wife when he heard that one can
rent a car for a aret of $19,95 and higher.
He thought the lowest rates would be far more expensive.
It was fun to hear them plan their vacation after all.
I asked Anne how she knew about this special offers, discounts and about this marvellous service.
The way she smiled! You should have seen that!
She said they offer services all over the world, and she uses cars this way almost everywhere.
She gains points for renting, resulting in free days.
She also uses this car rental service when she arrives at an airport and has to depart from another. It's not always needed to bring the car at the same place it's rented.
It's best to visit the site to have a good look at all the opportunities.
You can book online and you'll always find low prices, regardless of the season.
You won't be disappointed!

dandelion day
april 27 2008
One way or another some days seem to have a theme.
Today I ran across the first dandelions in the front garden.
We don't see as many of them as we used to see, so I was in doubt whether to consider them to be weeds and pull them out, or leave them alone and give the girls the joy of blowing the fluff and seeds around.
There's such a lovely lesson about nature hidden in the way the seeds are transported.
Then I had a coffee and switched on the TV, watching an item about dandelions and their healing properties: cleaning the liver and kidneys.
I almost ran outside and started to chew one one of the flowers. LOL!
Then a friend came in to computer here and she was wearing a shirt with dandelions.
And on top of it I found the most beautiful bag at Teresa's blog.
It's a give-away.
Well, after not receiving the items I've won at the last give-away, I decided never again to enter a contest.
So many people only want to ship to their own country and only their own country, that I felt I would never be able to win again.
Today I have a tiny bit of hope: maybe I will.
It's dandelion day for me here, so why not enter the contest.
You can too.
So:
Teresa is holding a new contest over at her personal blog.
Those entering have a chance at winning a lovely and uniquely designed dandelion handbag by Rebecca Weis.
Teresa is willing to ship this item anywhere, so anyone can participate.
Let's see who'll be the winner!

ARC Marketing Inc.
march 13 2008
When I was in high school I organised the school's fundraiser.
It was during a week full of creative and cultural events.
The money we raised went to a school at the other side of the world, a school with the same name as ours.
We didn't have any gadgets to sell.
We just used the schoolpaper to sprad the word.
That's different today.
ARC Marketing Inc. provides the most important gadgets in fundraising: custom car magnets and silicone bracelets.
Experienced designers assist you to create the best tools to make your name known everywhere.
It doesn't matter if the fundraiser is for a new sportshall for your school, a vacation for autistic children, a new roof for the church or sending a talented pupil to an important contest.
Each and every fundraiser can rely on the best gadget available.
You can reach ARC Marketing by phone, fax and email.
You can use the form at the site to have a representative to contact you.

march 13 2008
Some people are always late!
And even when the 13th falls on a thursday things go wrong.
After month of preparations for her new house, after loading everything in a huge truck, after saying good bye and driving hundreds of miles, my friends arrived at their new house.
So Charled grasped in his pocket, got the key... and realised he'd given the key of the new house to their old neighbours and he was trying to open the door with the old key....
Panick!!!!
Until his brains started to work an he realised he was in Connecticut and he could call Hartford couriers.
They provide a very reliable courierservice for mail, packages and documents.
His call was answered immediately and soon after that a courrier was on his way.
I bet it was the most expensive key he'd ever delivered, but today it didn't matter.
Late in the evening they could enter the house and sleep with a roof over their heads.
I'm sure we'll tease him the next 50 birthdays. LOL!

National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas in 2008
march 11 2008
We tried to plan an international conference.
Some representatives had already suggested the dates.
Then I got a mail from a Dallas friend... No way he could attent the conference.
He expected to be able to get NFR Tickets, and he certainly would honor his family tradition. Which means he's going to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
A conference at any of the dates of december 4 tot 13 was out of the question!
So november it'll be. Those who are waiting for the dates: they'll be available at the end of march.
Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association decided in 1958 for a world championship event in each of rodeo's seven main events: calf roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, and team roping.
The first National Finals Rodeo (NFR), also known as the "super bowl of rodeo", was held in 1959 and after that held annually until 1961.
In the years 1962, 1963 and 1964 the competition was hosted in Los Angeles. And the 20 years after that it was held in Oklahoma City.
In 1985 the city of Las Vegas, Nevada, hosted the event for the first time, and it has been Las Vegas ever since.
The stories I hear from my friend are so enthousiastic, I would love to go too.
They meet the whole family and some even take part. Being a contestant alone is a huge honor. Molly, his niece, took part in the barrel racing and the whole family were at the fifth row, and had the time of their lives.
It was the first time they bought their tickets at Team One Tickets and they had such a good experience.
Team One Tickets has divided the Thomas & Mack Center into 15 different general seating areas. So one can choose exactly where to sit, when and at what price. There are no hidden fees at all.
They have pictures for all places, so you can check again before you order them.
I wish they use the same system here with main events.
Sometimes I dream about being able to witness the NFR. All those cowboys...it brings the old days alive!

Hawthorne Direct advertising agency
march 10 2008
many business-owners think that marketing their product on TV is out of their reach.
They're unknown with the way the informercials are made and sold.
That means they miss a very effective opportunity of selling their product on TV.
Especially Direct Response Television can be a great way to bring the product to the public and get it into use, so the word can be spread.
Hawthorne Direct can solve all your problems.
They have lots of experience of bringing entertaining ads on TV.
Many informercials have already been aire with huge success, so why not yours?
They can make the infomercial for you, based on your own ideas, and they can buy the time to broadcast.
With other words, they can take the process you're unfamiliar with completely out of your hands.
TrafficGuard® removable bollards
march 10 2008
Whenever one wants to control the entry and/or exit of parking areas one needs security bollards which are easy to operate, and also form a clear signal for drivers and other users of the area.
TrafficGuard® Direct provides removable and collapsible safety bollards.
All too often I've seen that removable bolloards left a hole in the ground after removal.
TrafficGuard® Direct bollards come with a flush mount, so there's never an unprotected ground sleeve.
TrafficGuard® Direct invests a lot in product development. The new models of bollards come with a patent pending double slot bottom post.
Safety bollards are not only of use at parking areas.
We've used them here in town also at large events to prevent cars to enter the area.
Because the bollards are easy to handle they can be removed without loss of time in case of an emergency.
Dial 7 - airport limousine services
march 9 2008
Last week a friend arrived at Newark airport and found her car with a flat tyre.
She panicked and went to the information stand.
The woman there calmed her and told her there was a perfect service available:
limousine service Newark.
So my friend decided that she had nothing to loose and decided to call the NYC Car Service by Dial 7.
She was amazed she even had a choice of car, and was so overthrown by the kindness of the centralist, that she said she wanted a black limousine.
She didn't expect to be in time for her meeting, so she wanted at least to enjoy the ride.
But she arrived in time. Perfectly in time.
In fact, the time she planned for parking was the time she lost panicking. LOL!
Dial 7, New York Car & Limousine Service provides professional transport to and from Manhattan, Brooklyn, NJ and New York City.
They have over 450 late model sedans and town cars. And above all they have a very good name.
My friend felt perfectly safe, which is ofcourse very important in a city like New York. And she was very impressed by the cleanliness, the speed and the courtesy.
Even though they guarantee to be in time when you make a reservation 24 hours in advance, my friend was helped as fast as possible with the best service possible.
30 years of exeprience enables the best service, that's clear.

Bad Credit Loans can be of help
march 5 2008
These last months many families have been dealing with financial problems.
Especially those families that were already almost or completely in debt.
More and more people have to sell their houses, which has a huge impact on their lifes.
Car Loans can be a great help, because a car enables you to find a (better) job.
Complete Loan Source enables you to apply for a car loan online. Either a used car or a new car.
They even provide Bad Credit Loans.
They understand that people not always get in financial troubles because of their own lack of responsibility. That's why they put in more effort to provide a loan.
Ofcourse their national special finance network is of great help.
That way individual situations can be taken into account and the loan with the least burden can be provided.
You have to take into account that a loan means you have to repay in time, otherwise you'll be dealing with an even larger burden.
Complete Loan Source makes you aware of that, but you have to be responsible for your own financial situation.

Stylish blinds for every window
march 3 2008
Each year, when the sun hits my bedroomwindow, I start to long for others blinds.
I've had bamboo blinds there, curtains and even vertical blinds.
They all have moved to other windows.
I want shutters at the backside of the house.
The sun hits there arealy in the morning and moves away at lunchtime. The warm air is caught between walls.
Shutters will help to keep the backside of the house cool.
In front I have vertical blinds.
JustBlinds.com has a wide choice of blinds.
They offer outstanding quality at discount prices.
Many friends have their blinds in front of their windows and they're all very happy with them.
They also value customer service very much, because they all got very good friendly advice and perfect service.
They pointed out how important the measuring guide is.
One can download the guide and other measuring instructions from the site.
The installation instructions are also online. They're very clear, both texts and images, and they provide cleaning instructions as well.
JustBlinds.com has grown since 1999 to one of the largest independent window covering retailers in the US.
Their attention for details speaks from everything.
There's good child safety advice coming with the blinds, so children won't get entangled in the cords.
I value JustBlinds.com very much, because they not only provide classical blinds, but also the latest trends in window decoration.
Well, I'm not alone in this. More than 300.000 satisfied customers spread the same message.
